Robert Maxwell
Graduate Advisor

Robert Maxwell is a second-year PhD student in Political science who acts as a grad advisor for the Rainier institute, advising students on their policy work and providing a sounding board for developing their projects further.

His research specialization is in the field of international security, with a focus on grand strategy, civil-military relations, information warfare, and defense-industrial base issues. Robert also has an interest in adopting wargaming methods for social science research.

Prior to coming to UW, Robert was a research associate at the International Security Program at the Centers for Security and International Studies. He holds an MA in international relations from the University of Chicago and a BA in International Affairs from Temple University, Japan Campus. He is also an 11 year veteran of the United States Navy.
